Update on Injuries

For this time of year (KNOCK HEAVILY ON WOOD) the Bears have been extremely lucky on the injury front. Other than Hunter Hillenmeyer, who would have just been a special teamer at best this season, going into the Eagles game we had NOT ONE player on the injury report. NOT ONE! A lot of it is luck, but i think some credit should be given to the Bears players for coming into this season ready to go (eg.-Darrell Revis); and Rusty Jones & Jim Arthur, the Bears strength and conditioning guys.  This week, just Pisa Tonoisamoa is listed as being limited at practice, because of a nagging knee injury. I am more concerned about this being an issue going into the final quarter of the season and the playoffs…but I think, for now, the Bears should sit him, start Roach against the Lions, and get Tiny ready for the Patriots. He has really solidified the SLB position, and a BIG,UNDERRATED REASON for our run defense’s improvement this season.

As for the Lions, not only are Matt Stafford and backup Shaun Hill out for this game, leaving DREW STANTON to start this Sunday (Enter your chuckle HERE); but Jason Hanson was placed on IR, leaving Dave Raymer to handle kicking duties this week. Also missing practice on Thursday were Kyle Vanden Bosch (neck) and Gosder Cherilus (knee); and Jahvid Best(toe), Tony Sheffler (ribs), Deandre Levy (groin), and Nostradamus Burleson (hamstring) all were limited in practice.

Wait a minute—a 3rd-string QB, and backup (rookie) RT, and MAURICE MORRIS as the starting RB? I see one of these coming:

    • Hey everyone want to talk about how this team compares to the 2006 team. Now, we even have a fight between teammates!

Thats a tough season right there. But considering we’ve had our fair share I find it tough to shed a tear for them. It would be a good thing to get this out of the way early and rest our guys maybe give some new players a shot to have fun like Wright and get some valuable experience. Maybe activate Bell as he seems to be feeling froggy these days. maybe he can take it out on a DB or two.
