DA BEARS, ALL DA TIME!

Bears win ugly.

Wow. I am not sure what to make of this game; hopefully its just a case of overlooking Drew Stanton and the Lions, and we play much improved next week versus the Patriots. We did seem to turn it on, once they had the ball first-and-goal at the 10 early in the third. Our defense played much improved in the second half. I am not liking the missed tackles my Tillman and Harris—maybe it is time for the Major Wright era to begin. On offense, except for the fact that Webb made Avril look like Lawrence Taylor, our offense played really well. Being able to keep the ball with % minutes left by picking up a few first downs was something that really caught my attention. Also, I noticed Jay making some pre-snap adjustments with Knox and Bennett via hand signals that lets me know Jay is really starting to feel comfortable with the concept of this offense. Thats a really good sign for us.

My 3 stars:
1)Earl Bennett- 7 catches, 100+ yards. If there was any doubt who Jay trusts with the game on the line, there shouldn’t be now. Bennett runs good routes, and catches everything—even when getting hit. And the run after the catch in the second quarter was Payton-esque effort.
2)D.J. Moore- his sack schanged the whole complexion of one drive; he was the only guy in our secondary who could mae a tackle on the short passes. From start to finish today, the only guy on our defense whose effort I liked.
3) Jay Cutler- he is taking care of the ball and making some HUGE throws. Also, like I mentioned above, realy made some key adjustments that led to some big first downs. I know he won’t make the Pro Bowl this year, but he is playing like an ALL-PRO right now.

All in all, it was an ugly game, but I am happy to get the hell out with a win.

Jay and Earl were huge. Thats turning into a hell of a tandem. The defense did step up in the second half though. 3 points and only 49 yards allowed. You know Marinelli rode that unit at halftime. No turnovers though. They need to play better next week and I believe they will. As far as Jay goes you know no ones going to give him credit. people will still find something to bitch about.
