Friday Injury Report
Really no surprises for the Bears, as Pisa Tinoisamoa was ruled out for this weekend’s game following arthroscopic knee surgery late last week. He is targeting coming back for at least the playoffs; hopefully he would be ready if we needed him for the last two games versus the Jets and Packers. Nick Roach is listed as questionable for Sunday after the injury to his back that caused him to be taken out of last weekend’s game versus the Lions; if he cannot go, expect Rod Wilson to start at strongside LB. This isn’t as big of a deal as you would think, as I expect us to play a lot of nickel package to combat the Patriots’ spread offense, even when they go 2WR, 2 TE.
For the Patriots, the big surprise came on Friday that Brandon Spikes, their rookie ILB, has been suspended for the next 4 games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Spikes has played mainly on running downs and goal-line situations; and there is not too much drop-off between Spikes and his probable replacement, Gary Guyton. The other significant injury for the Patriots is Mike Wright, who will probably miss the game after sustaining a concussion. He is a very underrated run-stopper for the Patriots, and was having a very solid year thus far.
So, it looks like both teams are pretty much full strength going into Sunday’s game. It should be a great one.
