What’s up boys?! It’s Dave, “David” from facebook just checking in. What’s up Ben? Hope this catches on and we can get things rolling again. Lockout or not, I’m ready to talk Bears! On that note, looks like Corey Liuget may fall to the Bears at 29. This could be true espesically if there is a quick run on OL prospects, like anticipated. The 6’3/300lb local guy from the Illini could jump into Tommie’s old 3/tech spot from day one. Here’s his Walter digits. Tell me what you all think, and who you like.

Dave you already know my thoughts on this subject. LOL! Not a fan of selecting Liguet. I think his comparison to Sedrick Ellis tells it all. A real good player you can win with, but not because of. I go high or stay home in the first man. You gotta get playmaking beasts there.

I’m not big Liuget fan either man, but replacing Harris has to be a high priority. They need to get the best 3tech available imo. Jerry believes in keeping strenghts strong #1, he needs to do it here and now.

The guy I like the best out of all the 3-gap tackles is Marvin Austin, if he can ever get his crap in gear. but if we can steal Quinn/Bowers/Clayborn in the first round, or get a guy like Romeus in the later rounds, i think our best bet is to move Izzy and Melton back inside.

Well The Bears are looking to the future and its good to know they recognize the same faults in their team as we do, and are apparently looking to address them. The Bears are looking to workout Canadian football league leading receiver Andy Fantuz. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/bears-expected-to-look-at-cfl-receiver-fantuz.html
Even though in this article it says he’s likely to return to Canada for better money and security its still encouraging to see they not only recognize they need more at the position, but also that they are willing to get a bigger receiver which is not what Martz is known for wanting. Fantuz is 6-4 22o.
They also worked out three receivers early this week. According to a source, Jake Allen, Aundrae Allison and Emmanuel Arceneaux were worked out. There details in this article. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/source-bears-worked-out-three-wide-receivers.html
In other news the Bears are also looking at next season on the O-line. According to this story at chicagobreakingnews.com Bears practice squad lineman (who I believe is being groomed at the tackle spot) was offered a contract by Miami, but he declined the offer to stay with the Bears because of opportunity. The Bears did give him a raise to stay, but according to his agent he did leave money on the table. So expect to see Levi Horn at one of the Tackle spots next season. And by the way it doesn’t look like Webb will be losing his starting job anytime soon so Frank the Tank Omiyale looks like he’s in trouble. Perhaps they have him compete at one of the guard spots next or release him outright. I’d assume the later since he carries a pretty high price tag if they pick up his option. Its a shame because I think frank has the skills to be dominant at LT, but apparently not the desire. I was a big supporter of his, but its clear a change needs to be made and thank God the Bears look like they will make it.

Go Levi! Like the cowboy name..lol. The Bear’s willingness to part with Omiyale speaks volumes about management’s intention to win right now. Their have definitely been times when the front office would have been very hesitant to admit mistake, and make a move like this. Overall, I feel good about this year.

I agree with you. I feel good about this year. I feel this organization is committed to winning now! Peppers taking an 8 million deferral shows me Bears are getting ready to spend some loot. As far as Omiyale is concerned, did I miss something? I haven’t heard of Omiyale getting cut.

Word on the street is release of Omiyale if the Bears can find the right replacement. Too bad we can’t seem to get this page going bro. I miss all the Bears talk.
